On Sunday, August 16th, we gathered for a joint mass to celebrate the pilgrimage festival of our Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. At the end, we thanked Father Jindřich, who this year is celebrating not only 30 years since his ordination (June 22, 1995), but also 30 years of service in our parish as a parochial vicar (November 1, 1995). We wished him God's blessings and that he would continue to be, as Father Petr called for in his speech, a "wellspring of living water" not only for our parish.
After the mass, parishioners, families with children, and other visitors gathered for a traditional afternoon snack consisting of homemade pancakes, grilled meat, and other treats. The meal could be concluded with a sweet treat at a charity coffee and cake sale or with other brought goodies.
The park next to the church was transformed into "A Journey Around the World," prepared by members of the Orl organization, where children completed various tasks.
An attractive part of the program was the discussion "Father Jindřich Celebrates 30 Years." In a live interview with Father Petr, we could hear interesting stories and details from Father Jindřich that we may never have heard before.
The pilgrimage day ended at 5:00 PM with the "Pilgrimage Concert for You," featuring the band Napořád, followed by the band Kapky starting at 7:00 PM.
A recording of the pilgrimage mass and the afternoon discussion can be found on the parish's YouTube channel.
